Melt Opening Fourth Location in Mentor on Friday
CLEVELAND, OHIO – The first weekend in November will be a big one for Mentor, Ohio, and for Melt Bar & Grilled, a Cleveland-area favorite for award-winning gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. On Friday, November 2, the nationally known restaurant group will open its fourth location in Mentor, in the Points East Plaza at the corner of Route 306 and Mentor Avenue.
The Mentor restaurant is the largest Melt location to date and was designed to maximize space while still maintaining the eclectic comfort that has become standard at all Melt locations. This new design was first used for the Independence location, which opened in October 2011, and will become the Melt standard, moving forward with expansion. The Mentor location will also feature a patio area to accommodate diners during the warmer months of the year, with seating for 40 to 50 outdoors and about 140 in the dining room. The newest Melt employs about 85 staff.
The concept and menu will be an exact match to the other award-winning locations in Lakewood, Cleveland Heights and Independence, and guests can look forward to an extensive beer list, with 40 beers on tap and nearly 50 bottled selections, as well as Melt’s signature sandwiches and monthly specials, housemade desserts and soups, and various vegan and vegetarian options.
“The entire Melt family is extremely excited to open our doors in Mentor this weekend,” said Melt owner Matt Fish. “This location has been a long time coming and we know the people of Mentor and the surrounding areas have been waiting patiently. Our goal is to offer them awesome food and stellar service in warm, unique environment, and we hope it will all be worth the wait. Melt has truly become a destination in Ohio, both for locals and for guests from around the country, so we’re looking forward to the newest Melt location in Mentor becoming another neighborhood favorite.”
Melt’s newest home in Mentor was refurbished and retrofitted in the plaza that housed a previous restaurant, Jalapeno Loco.
Melt has been named “Best Restaurant” and “Best Sandwich” for The Cleveland Scene’s Best of Cleveland Awards 2012. Melt was also honored with nine 2012 Silver Spoon Awards from Cleveland Magazine, including No. 1 Best Sandwich, No. 1 Best Cheap Eats, No. 1 Best Service, No. 1 Best People Watching, No. 1 Best Beer Selection, No. 2 Best Cocktails, No. 2 Best Place for Family Dining, No. 3 Best Soup and No. 3 Best Vegetarian/Vegan.
