New Things in Store at Melt in September

CLEVELAND, OHIOMelt Bar & Grilled, a Cleveland-area favorite for gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, will roll out a new menu on September 3 that will feature seasonal selections, new appetizers and salads, a gluten-free bread option and new Melt sandwiches that are sure to become fan favorites.

Melt’s new menu features starters such as Lemongrass & Ginger Hummus and Fried Mozzarella Wedges, as well as improved favorites like Spinach & Artichoke Dip and Wild Tofu Wings, now with 4 different sauces. Melt is also unveiling a lineup of Small Plate Salads that will incorporate seasonal flavors and ingredients with fresh greens. The New Melt House Salad, The Spicy Cold Noodle Salad, The warm Brussels & Bacon Salad or the seasonally flavored Green Apple & Prosciutto Salad are designed to be smaller in size and bigger in flavor!

Melt’s famous gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches are also getting a bit of an improvement. Many old favorites will see an increased ingredient and flavor improvement, like The Cleveland Cheese Steak, The Mushroom Melt and The Peanut Butter & Banana Melt. Quite a few new sandwiches are also entering the ring, such as The War Pig, The New Bomb Turkey, The Backyard BBQ, The Curry Chicken Melt, The Fish & Puppies and The Shrimp Po-Boy. Even Melt’s Add-Ons list is getting a boost of options so guests can customize any sandwich in any imaginable way possible! The new menu allows for seasonal changes that will keep Melt’s menu fresh.

September’s beer feature is Southern Tier Pumking, with a spicy aroma and deep copper color. The drink feature for the month is The Pumking Float, made with Southern Tier Pumking, Pumpkin Spice Liqueur and Chai Spice Liqueur, all shaken with ice and topped with real whipped cream.

Finish off your meal with the fall-flavored dessert feature. Melt’s Old Fashioned Apple Crisp Bread Pudding is vanilla, cinnamon and clove spiced bread pudding covered in homemade apple raisin compote made with local Tom’s Foolery Distillery’s applejack brandy.  It’s topped with a crisp brown sugar and oat crumble, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and drizzled with a spiced caramel sauce.

September will also be the start of Melt’s new Fall Seasonal Drink Menu, featuring:

  • The Molo-Tom Cocktail: Fireball Whiskey, fresh ginger juice and lemon
  • The Fig “New” Fashion: Bulliet Bourbon, Gran Gala, cane sugar, citrus and fig jam
  • The Havana Jam Jar: Cuervo Silver Tequila, Triple Sec, fresh lime juice, Orange Habanero Marmalade and peach nectar
  • The Spiced Fig Punch: Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, lemon, orange juice and fig jam
  • The Throat Punch!: Bulliet Rye, Gran Gala, lemon, Orange Habanero Marmalade and peach nectar

Melt’s Late Night Film Series feature is “Fight Club,” starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, playing at midnight Sept. 27 at the Cedar Lee Theatre at 2163 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights. Melt will celebrate Vegetarian and Vegan Weekend again on Sept. 13-15, with items geared especially for the non-meat-eaters. The weekend menu will feature The Buffalo Tofu Chowder, a special vegan starter, a special vegan bread pudding and many items not normally available on the regular menu.

The opening of Melt’s fifth location in Columbus is fast-approaching and to increase members of the Melt family, the restaurant group will host a hiring fair on Sept. 23-24. Watch the Melt web site and Facebook page for locations and times.

Melt’s Rock & Roll Night Out Promotion continues in September, with chances to win tickets to awesome local shows. Guests can fill out an entry form at any Melt location and winners will receive two tickets to an upcoming concert, along with a $10 Melt gift card to use before or after the show. One winner will be chosen at each Melt location for each concert. Shows for September include:

    So are the sandwiches (such as The Rising Sun & Gyro Melt) that were removed going to be coming back at some point in the future? Or are they gone for good?

      Corey – we are making room for some new sandwiches but your old favorites will probably show up again at some point in the next year!

      Sue – the coleslaw isn’t gone, it just isn’t being served on every plate because a lot of it was going to waste. You can still substitute for coleslaw or add it on to your meal.
