Great Moments in Melt History – “Welcome to Canton”
Best known as the birthplace of football and the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Canton is also home to the 11th location of Melt Bar and Grilled. Opened November 6th of 2017, the Canton location is located at Belden Village Mall in a new building on the north side of the mall.
“We saw a good amount of guests coming up from the Canton area to visit our Akron location so it seemed like a good move,” says Matt Fish, owner and founder of Melt. “Canton definitely has its own personality. It is a very tight community with strong working class and family values. The people and the community are wonderful and we are happy to have called it home for a full year now.”
Melt is known for paying tribute the community in which it is located, and Canton is no different. “We have a great “Welcome to Canton” neon art piece created by Dana Depew at this location,” says Fish. “Lots of reclaimed barn wood and the walls are covered with many Canton memorabilia pieces. Several other very unique Canton pieces are framed and hanging on the wall. We even found some old bleacher seats and backs from a Canton high school.”
And let’s not forget the Jake Kelly mural.
“Jake is very good at what he does and conducts extensive research on the communities he is creating the mural for,” says Fish. “Jake did another fantastic job on the Canton mural with many well-known Canton celebrities are featured including Marilyn Manson, President McKinley and his famous memorial along with the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”
“We’re as excited to serve the great people of Canton today as we were when we first opened and we hope to see our Stark County friends soon!”
